French Toast Custard

Ingredients

  • 10 French Bread slices day old
  • 5 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1 cup whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • Powdered sugar, too dust

Preparation

Step 1

Brush both sides of the bread with butter and place in a greased 9 x 13 pan.
In a large bowl beat eggs and egg yolks.
Add milk,cream,sugar, vanilla and nutmeg.
Mix well and pour over the bread.
Cover and chill overnight.
Remove from the refrigerator 30 minutes before cooking.
Pre-Heat oven to 350. Bake 55 to 60 minutes.
