Ingredients
- 3 cans of crushed tomatoes (or 4 cans of whole tomatoes put through a food mill)
- crushed garlic to taste
- shallots
- red pepper flakes about 1 shake (be careful you do not want it to spicy)
- salt & pepper
- fresh basil (optional)
Preparation
Step 1
Sweat the shallots and then add the garlic and red pepper flakes. Next add the tomatoes. Season with salt and pepper. If using canned tomatoes you can use a immersion blender to make smoother. Simmer for 45 minutes. Add chopped fresh basil.
