Mock Buttercream for Practicing

Have you always wanted to perfect your piping skills? But it is of course not always possible to practice with real cream on real cake! Easy to make, reusable Practice 'Buttercream' to practice your piping skills. Can store at least one year!

Ingredients

• 1 1/2 cups solid vegetable shortening (Crisco)
• 4 cups sifted powdered sugar
• 2 tablespoons water
• 1 tablespoon light corn syrup

Variations
Thin consistency - For writing, stems and leaves - use 3 tablespoons water and 2 tablespoons light corn syrup.
Stiff consistency - For flowers with upright petals such as roses, omit the corn syrup.
