Brown sugar fudge

  • 3 cups brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp butter
  • 1 cup light cream or evaporated milk
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

Combine sugar and milk. Cook slowly, stirring constantly, until mixture boils. Boil slowly, stirring occasionally, to 236°F (soft ball stage). Remove from heat, add butter without stirring. Cool to lukewarm (120°F). Add vanilla, beat until mixture holds shape and has creamy consistency. Pour into greased 8" x 8" pan. Cool, cut in squares.
