Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups warm water (95-115 degrees F)
  • 1 Tbsp sugar
  • 1 Tbsp yeast
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 cups flour

Preparation

Step 1

Put the warm water in a large bowl. Add the sugar and stir until dissolved. Sprinkle the yeast over the top of the water. Let it sit a few minutes until it starts to foam. Stir in 1 cup flour and the salt. Add 3 more cups of flour and mix with your hands. If it is too sticky add a bit more flour. Put some
flour on a board or the counter and knead it for a few minutes until it is smooth. Add more flour if it gets too sticky. Put it back in the bowl and let it rise in a warm place until it doubles in size, about 20-30 minutes. Punch it down and cut it into about 20 pieces. Make into desired shapes and place on greased cookie sheets. Let rise 10 minutes. Bake for 12-15 minutes at 400 degrees F. Dip into melted butter and then into cinnamon/sugar mixture.
