MACARONI CASSEROLE

Ingredients

  • 1 lb shell or screw type macaroni
  • 2 lbs lean hamburger
  • 1 large jar Ragu spaghetti sauce
  • 16 oz. shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 cans sliced mushrooms
  • 1/2 c. grated Parmesan or Romano cheese
  • 1 med onion chopped
  • 1 green pepper chopped
  • 1 pkg pepperoni slightly fried to eliminate fat
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp dried basil

Preparation

Step 1

Fry hamburger with onion and pepper. Drain off fat; add in oregano, garlic powder and basil.
Mix meat mixture with Ragu sauce
Cook macaroni and drain.
In large baking dish place layer of cooked macaroni, meat sauce, both types of cheese, mushrooms and pepperoni. Repeat layers until top layer is covered with mozzarella and pepperoni.
Bake covered at 325 degrees for 30-40 minutes or until heated through and cheese is melted.
