Ingredients
- 1 c. yellow cornmeal
- 1 c. flour
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 4 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. milk
- 1 egg
- 1/4 c. vegetable shortening
Preparation
Step 1
Combine cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Add milk, eggs and shortening. Beat until fairly smooth (by hand) for about 1 minute. Bake in greased 8-inch square baking pan in preheated 425 degree oven for 20 to 25 minutes. Do not overbake.
