  • Shredded cabbage
  • Sugar
  • Salt
  • Boiling water

Preparation

Step 1

Pack shredded cabbage into quart jars. Add 1 tsp. salt and 1 tsp. sugar to each jar. Fill jars with boiling water.
Affix canning lids. Let "work" for 4 to 5 days. Clean off outside of jars and tighten lids again. Can be "hot bathed" for 15 minutes, if desired.
