Ingredients
- 1 rack of pork spareribs
- Dry rub (onion powder, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, black pepper, salt, chili powder, and paprika to taste. Amounts are according to personal preference.)
- 2 Tbsp. bacon grease
- 1 cup Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ Sauce
Preparation
Step 1
Wash rack of ribs with cool water. If you can remove the film from the back of the rack, do so. If not, it is OK to leave it on. Lay ribs on a sheet pan. Sprinkle with dry rub. Cover sheet tray COMPLETELY with tin foil. Make sure there are no places where steam can escape. Cook ribs in low oven (170 degrees) for 5-6 hours. Carefully remove ribs from oven and remove foil. Be sure to hold pan steady as it will be full of juices. Allow ribs to cool for about 20 minutes. Brush ribs with bacon grease. Allow ribs to sit and absorb grease for about 15 minutes. Coat ribs thoroughly with BBQ sauce. Place ribs on a very low grill, bone side down. Let ribs sit on grill for 20-30 minutes so sauce can caramelize. DO NOT turn ribs over on grill! Once BBQ sauce is “gooey”…remove from grill and chow down!
