ITALIAN SPAGHETTI SAUCE From: Sue Hanson

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs. ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped (about 1/2 cup)
  • 1 green pepper, chopped
  • 2 – 15 oz. cans tomato sauce
  • 2 – 12 oz. cans tomato paste
  • 1 – 7 1/2 oz. can olives, drained and sliced
  • 2 envelopes spaghetti sauce mix
  • 3 cups water
  • 1 T. sugar
  • 1 tsp. oregano leaves
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 bay leaf, crumbled

Preparation

Step 1

Cook and stir ground beef, onion and green pepper till meat is brown and onion is tender. Stir in remaining ingredients, cover and simmer 1 1/2 hours.

(I put mine in a crock-pot – the longer is cooks, the better it tastes! Also, it freezes well!)
