Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 1 lb vidalia onions, quartered and thinly sliced
  • 1 cup shredded green cabbage
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup red wine vinegar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper

Preparation

Step 1

In a skillet, heat butter over med heat. Add onions and 1 tsp salt. Cook and stir 5 minutes.

Reduce heat; add 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper. Cover; cook 5 minutes.

Add cabbage. Cover; cook 5 minutes, stirring twice.

Uncover; increase heat. Add honey and vinegar; bring to boiling; reduce heat. Uncover; cook 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Remove; cool. Refrigerate up to 2 weeks.
