Cranberry Nut Bread


A great loaf to serve during the holidays.

  • 3 C all-purpose flour
  • 1 C sugar
  • 4 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 C milk
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 1/4 C butter, melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 C dried cranberries
  • 1 1/2 C chopped walnuts or pecans

Step 1

Sift flour and next 3 ingredients into a large bowl; stir to combine. Add milk and next 3 ingredients, stirring just until moistened. Stir in nuts and cranberries. Pour batter into a greased and floured 9 x 5 inch loafpan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 10 minutes or until a wooden toothpick comes out clean. Cool in pan on wire rack for 10 minutes; remove from pan and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
