Ingredients
- 4 cups old-fashioned oats
- 2 cups puffed wheat
- 1 cup puffed rice
- 1/2 cup puffed millet (optional)
- 1 cup sesame seeds
- 1 cup sliced almonds
- 3/4 cup safflower oil
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1 cup frozen unsweetened apple juice concentrate, thawed
- 2 tsp. ground cinnamon
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line 2 rimmed baking pans with parchment paper
In a large bowl, combine the oats, puffed wheat, puffed rice, puffed millet, if using, sesame seeds, and almonds. In a small saucepan over low heat, combine the oil, honey, apple juice concentrate, and cinnamon and stir until heated through. Add to the dry mixture and stir to coat evenly.
Divide the granola evenly between the 2 baking pans and bake for 20 minutes. Shake the pan vigorously to move the granola around, or stir with a spatula, rotate the pans, and continue baking for another 20 minutes, until the granola is lightly browned. Makes 10 cups.
