Beer Batter Fish Fillets

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Tabasco
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 bottle beer
  • 1 cup milk
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 pounds cod fillets
  • 2 quarts vegetable oil for frying

Preparation

Step 1

In a large bowl, mix together flour, salt, baking powder, and tabasco,paprika,salt and pepper. Add beer, milk, and eggs; mix well.

Place fish fillets in batter mixture, coat well, and let stand for 15 minutes.

Heat deep fryer to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Place fish in hot oil, and fry until golden brown. Cook fish in batches to maintain oil temperature. Serve.
