Ingredients
- 32 Kraft caramels
- 2/3 cup evaporated milk
- 1 cup flour
- 3/4 cup oats old fashioned, uncooked
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp. soda
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 3/4 cup margarine
- 6 oz. package semi-sweet chocolate pieces

Step 1
Melt caramels with milk in covered double boiler or heavy sauce pan over low heat. Combine the dry ingredients, cut in oleo until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Reserve 1 cup. Press remaining crumb mixture onto the bottom of a greased 13x9 pan. Bake at 350 for 12 minutes. Sprinkle chocolate pieces over the baked crust. Spread caramel mixture evenly over the chocolate. Continue baking for 20 minutes. Chill for 2 hours.
