cup brown sugar
Combine above ingredients until crumbly, press into ungreased pan. Bake 5-7 minutes at 350°.

Wash currants thoroughly and drain. Beat eggs, gradually add sugar, flour and vanilla. Add currants and nuts. Pour over partially baked base. Return to oven and bake for 30 minutes or until top is golden brown. Cool and cut into bars.
