Ingredients
- Filling:
- Baked pie shell
- 4 eggs
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- Topping:
- 1 c. whipping cream
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- Optional ground nuts
Preparation
Step 1
Beat 4 whites of eggs until almost stiff. Add the 1/2 c. sugar and 1 tsp. vanilla. Beat until mixture stands alone. Pour into baked pie shell. Place into 300 oven and bake until whites are slightly browned - about 30 mins.
Cool pie. Shortly before serving whip 1 c. whipping cream, add the 1/4 c. sugar and the 1/2 tsp. vanilla, spread evenly over the cooled pie. Sprinkle ground nuts on top if desired.
