Halloween Hi-Jinks

Ingredients

  • 6 oz. vanilla wafers
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 1 c. powdered sugar
  • 1/4 lb. butter or margarine
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/2 sq. (1 1/2 oz.) unsweetened chocolate
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract

Preparation

Step 1

Mix together rolled wafers and and chopped nuts. Use half to cover bottom of 9 x 9" pan.

Cream butter or margarine and sugar.

Add well-beaten egg yolks, melted chocolate and vanilla to creamed mixture.

Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.

Pour over wafers and nuts and spread remaining half of nut-crumbs mixture over top.

Put in refrigerator overnight. Cut and serve in 3" square topped with whipped cream.
