Ingredients
- Seasoning:
- 2 c. Flour
- 1/2 c. Warm water
- 1/4 c. 2% Milk
- 1 1/4 t. Rapid rise yeast
- 1/2 t. Garlic powder
- 2 T. Melted butter
- 3/4 T. Sugar
- 1/2 t. salt
- 4-5 T. Extra virgin Olive Oil
- 1/2 t. Oregano
- 1 t. Garlic powder
- 2-3 T. Parmesan powder
- 1 t. Italian seasonin
- Salt & Pepper to taste
- Dipping Sauce:
- 1 c. tomato puree/canned tomato sauce
- 1/2 t. Sugar
- 1/2 t. oregano
- 1/2 t. Italian seasoning
- 1/2 t. garlic powder
- salt to taste
- red chili flakes to taste
- Another Red Sauce
- 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon dried basil leaves
- 1/4 teaspoon dried thymeshopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 whole bay leaf
- 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
Preparation
Step 1
1. Use your stand mixer with the dough hook. Put yeast, sugar, warm water, and milk in. Stir to mix well. Let it froth for 3 to 4 min. Add salt and butter and mix.
2. Add the flour a liitle at a time, add garlic powder and mix until dough starts to form and no dry flour is left. If dough too sticky add a little more flour. Knead the dough on medium speed for 5 to 6 min.
3. Pour 4 T. oil into a 9 X 13 cake pan making sure it is spread evenly. Take out the dough on a lightly floured surface and roll into a 9 X 13 rectangle. Place the dough into the 9 X 13 pan. Cover the pan with plastic wrap or damp dish towel. Let stand for 1 to 1 1/2 hour in warm place.
4. For sauce: mix everything and boil on medium heat and simmer on low for 15-20 min. (40-50 min. for second sauce) Mix everything for the seasoning in a small bowl and set aside.
5.Preheat oven to 450 degrees F. After the dough has risen, cut the dough into 10 to 12 equal bread stick. (Pizza cutter works well.)
6. Brush the top with some extra virgin olive oil. Sprinkle the seasoning evenly on top. Bake for 12 to 17 min. or until golden and edges crispy. Serve with dipping sauce.
