Italian "Gravy"

Ingredients

  • 4 large cans peeled tomatoes (unseasoned)
  • 4 small cans tomato paste, keep 1 of these cans after you use the paste
  • 1.5 tsp basil
  • 1 TBS sugar
  • 1/2-1 TBS Garlic Powder
  • 1 large white onion

Preparation

Step 1

Lightly blend the peeled tomatoes (hand blender or motorized) and add to a large pot. Add the paste, basil, sugar, and garlic powder. Using the paste can you saved, fill it with water twice and add to sauce.

Stir often for 12-14 hours

Fry the onion in olive oil AFTER you cook your meats. Add grease to sauce.
