Moist Sugar Cookies

Note: Chill dough slightly to help prevent spreading. Add anything else you may want such as nuts, raisins, etc.

Ingredients

  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. shortening or margarine
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1/4 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • Lemon or lemon extract

Preparation

Step 1

Cream sugar and shortening. Beat in egg. Add rest of ingredients. Drop by spoonfuls on greased cookie sheet. Flatten and sprinkle with sugar. Cook until lightly browned 10-12 mins. at 375.
