Ingredients
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees
- 2 - 1 oz. squares unsweetened baking chocolate
- 1/2 C butter
- 2/3 C brown sugar
- 1/3 C sugar
- 1/2 t baking soda
- 1/2 t salt
- 1 large egg
- 1 T red food coloring
- 3/4 C sour cream
- 2 C packed flour
- 1 C semi sweet choc. chips
Preparation
Step 1
Line cookie sheets with parchment paper. Spray with Pam. Melt chocolate. Stir. Combine butter, sugars in a bowl with mixer. Beat till smooth. Add baking soda, salt. Resume beating. Add egg. Beat till smooth. Add red food coloring.
Add melted chocolate and mix. At low speed mix in half the flour. Mix in sour cream. Scrape bowl and add the rest of flour. Mix in chocolate chips by hand. Use a teaspoon to spoon the dough on the cookie sheet. If too sticky, chill for 1/2 hour. Slide parchment onto rack. When cool, remove from parchment to wax paper and frost.
Cream Cheese Frosting
1/4 C butter
4 oz. softened cream cheese
1/2 t vanilla
2 C powdered sugar
Mix softened butter, cream cheese and vanilla till smooth. Add powdered sugar slowly.
