Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 cup onion finely chopped
- 1 lb polish sausage cut in bite size pieces
- 2 15 oz cans black=eye peas undrained or 2 bags frozen
- 1 14 oz can beef broth
- 1 140z can diced tomatoes undrained
- 1 100z can rotel undrained
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1 to 2 jalapeno chilled seeded and chopped optional
- 2 to 3 cups water

Preparation
Step 1
place a dutch oven or large pot over medium-high heat
add ground beef and onions and cook until beef is browned stirring frequetly
drain excess grease
add remaining ingredients mix well
bring to a boil reduce heat and cover tightly
simmer 45 minutes
Tip the longer the soup sits the better the flavors will blend
