Sliced Cucumber Pickles

Ingredients

  • Large green cucumbers, cut into 1" chunks
  • 1 pint vinegar
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. tumeric
  • 1 tsp. celery seed
  • 1 tsp. mustard seed
  • Small onions when sealing

Preparation

Step 1

Pare the large green cucumbers and cut into the 1" pieces. Pour boiling salt water over them and let stand overnight. Rinse in cold water. Heat in 1" of vinegar and drain.

Use the remaining ingredients to make into a syrup. Put cucumbers in syrup and heat well. Put pickles in jar with a small onion and seal.
