Peppered White Gravy

Goes great on Fried Chicken or over Biscuits.

Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp butter or oil, fresh or left over from frying chicken
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/4 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup low-sodium chicken broth
  • 3/4 –1 tsp. cracked black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper
  • Salt to taste

Preparation

Step 1

For the gravy, heat reserved oil in skillet over medium-high.
Whisk in 1/4 cup flour, whisking constantly, 1 minute. Whisk in milk and broth; cook until thick and bubbly, whisking constantly, 5 minutes. Whisk in cracked pepper, Worcestershire, and cayenne; season with salt
