Hot Mushroom salad

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup white wine vinegar
  • 2 tbsp. dijon mustard
  • 1 clove garlic - minced
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 1 head lettuce
  • 1/4 lb. monterey jack cheese
  • 1/2 lb. fresh mushrooms
  • 2 tbsp. butter

Preparation

Step 1

Put salad plates in freezer for at least one hour to cool them.

Combine oil, vinegar, mustard, garlic, salt and pepper. Shake well. Mix torn lettuce, cheese, and dressing in a bowl. Place on cold plates. Immediately saute mushrooms until very hot. Spoon over salad so hot mushrooms melt the cheese. Serve.
