Ingredients
- 3/4 cup water
- 1 tsp yeast
- 1/2 cup white flour
- 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
- 1 1/2 tsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 egg (to brush on pretzel)
- Coarse salt (to sprinkle on top of brushed egg)
Preparation
Step 1
Mix the yeast & water until the yeast dissolves. Pour the flour, sugar and salt into the yeast and water mixture and stir until doughy.
Let rise for 1 ½ hours
Turn onto a clean, floured surface to knead the dough for about 3-5 minutes
Divide the dough and create pretzel designs (twists, figure eights, traditional)
Brush top of dough with egg and sprinkle with salt.
Bake at 400 for 20 minutes.
