Chocolate Oat-Chip Cookies

  • 1 cup margarine
  • 1 1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 3/4 cup flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 1/2 cups quick cooking oats
  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Preparation

Step 1

Heat oven to 375. Beat margarine and sugars till creamy. Add eggs, milk and vanilla, beating well. Add flour, baking soda and salt. Mix well. Stir in oats, chocolate chips and nuts. Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 9-10 minutes for a chewy cookie or 12-13 minutes for a crisp cookie. Cool 2 minutes on cookie sheet before moving to a wire rack to cool completely.
