Swedish Apple Cake

Ingredients

  • 1/4 lb. butter
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs - mix in yolks add
  • 1 tsp. almond flavoring
  • 1 large c. flour

Preparation

Step 1

Cream first two ingredients. Mix in the rest of the ingredients and spread in a square baking tin, 8 1/2" x 8 1/2" so that the dough is about 5/8" thick. Bake in 350 oven. Let cool. Leave in pan. Spread with thick sweetened apple sacue about 3/4" thick and merinque, made of the 2 egg whites. Brown and serve when cool with whipped cream.
