Feathery Ice Box Rolls

Ingredients

  • 2 c. warm milk
  • 1 pkg. yeast dissolved in a little cold milk
  • 1 egg, well beaten
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. shortening, melted
  • 6 c. flour sifted with 1 tsp. salt.

Preparation

Step 1

Add all ingredients to warm milk, stir thoroughly with spoon, place in ice box over night. When ready to use, roll 1/4 in. thick, spread with melted butter, cut in pie shape pieces and roll up from wide end. Allow 3 1/2 hrs. for raising. Bake in 425 oven. Brush with melted butter as soon as removed from oven.
