Honey Whole Wheat Pizza Crust

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg yeast
  • 1 T honey
  • 1 1/4 cups lukewarm water (110-115 deg)
  • 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 T extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tsp kosher salt

Preparation

Step 1

Place yeast honey and water into a bowl and stir to combine. Let sit for 5 minutes to allow yeast to proof.

Put the remaining ingredients in a food processor, pulse to combine. Add proofed yeast and pulse until it forms a ball.

Remove ball and transfer to an oiled bowl. Cover with damp kitchen towels and let rise until dough has doubled in size (about 1 hour).

Punch dough down and transfer to floured surface and knead briefly. Divide dough into 4 equal balls. Place, covered, in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours or overnight. Bring to room temperature before using.
