Vanilla Creme Brulee

You can buy vanilla sugar or make your own by splitting vanilla beans and add them to sugar in a tight storage container.

Ingredients
- 2 c milk
- 1 vanilla bean or 1 t extract
- 6 egg yolks
- 2 c heavy cream
- 1 1/2 c vanilla sugar*
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 400. Grease 6 custard cups with butter or veg spray. In microwave, bring milk to a boil. remove and add vanilla bean or extract; cover and let stand for 20 minutes.
Beat eggs with sugar until creamy. Add the milk and then the cream and then whisk. Fill custard cups 3/4 full. Place them on a roasting pan and add 1 in of water to the pan.
Bake for 10-15 min. Remove from oven and cool at room temp. Before serving, sprinkle vanilla sugar on top and broil in the oven.
