Butterscotch Brownies

Ingredients

  • 1/4 c shortening or butter
  • 1 c light brown sugar packed
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 t vanilla
  • 3/4 c sifted flour
  • 1 t baking powder
  • 1/2 t salt
  • 3/4 c butterscotch chips

Preparation

Step 1

Heat oven to 350. Melt butter over low heat. Remove from heat and blend in brown sugar. Cool. Stir in egg and vanilla. In a sep bowl, sift together flour, powder and salt. Stir dry mixture into butter mixture. Fold in chips. Spread in well greased and floured square 8x8 pan. bake 20-25 min. Cut into bars while still warm.
