Ingredients

  • For 4 to 5 servings you will need:
  • 3 cups fresh sliced rhubarb
  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • Dash salt
  • Topping:
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup butter or margarine
  • 1/3 cup sliced almonds or
  • chopped walnuts
  • Whipped cream or vanilla ice
  • cream, if desired

Preparation

Step 1

1) If the rhubarb is very thick, peel
it first to remove outer skin.
2) Place sliced rhubarb in a 6-by-
10-inch baking dish. Sprinkle with
cinnamon and salt.
3) Inabowl,combine the all-purpose
flour and the sugar.
4) Cut in the butter until crumbly.
Add almonds or walnuts.
5) Sprinkle crumbly mixture over
rhubarb.
6) Bake at 350° F for about 35
minutes or until golden brown and
rhubarb is soft and cooked.
7) Let cool slightly.
8)Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream, if desired.
