- 1 container large fresh mushrooms (I used Monterey)
- 2 - 3 tablespoons salted butter, or as needed
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
Prep the mushrooms as directed on package then cut in quarters or thick slices. Make sure they are completely dry before the next step.
Melt butter in a skillet over medium-high heat; when hot add the mushrooms and season to taste with salt and black pepper. Cook until lightly seared and desired doneness, stirring frequently so they don't burn. Remove from heat and serve immediately as a side dish or atop your favorite grilled steak and garlic mashed potatoes.
