Buttermilk Pancakes (Barrette Family)

  • • 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
  • • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • • 1/2 cup white flour
  • • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • • 1tbsp. oil
  • • 1 tbsp. sugar
  • • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • • 1 egg
  • • chocolate chips (optional)

Preparation

Step 1

On stovetop heat a skillet on medium. Mix all dry ingredients together until well blended. In separate bowl gently beat egg with buttermilk, vanilla and oil. Add to dry ingredients, stirring well. Pour batter in heaping spoonfuls onto hot skillet. When bubbles begin to form flip over.

Serve hot with golden maple syrup. Enjoy!
