Cream Soup Substitute

Use this for when a recipe calls for cream of mushroom, chicken, or celery soup.

  • 2 T butter or margarine
  • 2 T flour
  • 12 can of skim evap milk
  • 1/2 t salt
  • 1/4 t garlic powder
  • 1 T onion chopped fine or chopped chives if not sensitive
  • 1/4 t pepper if tolerated


Preparation time 5mins
Cooking time 15mins


Step 1

melt butter in med saucepan over med heat. Add flour blending with whisk until smooth. Slowly add milk, whisking constantly until mixture thickens, remove from heat. Blend in seasonings.

You can add cooked mushrooms, chicken or celery to this soup.
