Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground sirloin
  • 1 16 oz. jar Prego Spaghetti Sauce
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tbsp Italian Seasoning
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, part skim
  • 16 oz. 1% Milkfat Cottage Cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1 lb pasta

Preparation

Step 1

Sautee onion and garlic in a skillet. Once the onions are tender, add veggie crumbles. While browning, add 2 tbsp Italian Seasoning.

While the meat is browning, cook pasta according to package directions.

Once "meat" is browned, add prego and let simmer.

In a small bowl, mix cottage cheese, mozzarella cheese, egg, 1 tbsp Italian seasoning, salt and pepper.

Once pasta is finished cooking and drained, remove meat mixture from heat.

Layer half of the meat sauce into the bottom of the crock pot, followed by half of the pasta, and then half of the cheese mixture. Repeat. Top with some extra mozzarella and cook on low for approximately 6-8 hours or high for 4-6 hours.
