Refrigerator Bread & Butter Pickles

Ingredients

  • Brine:
  • 7 cups cukes (sliced not to thin - don't peel)about 8 or 10 cukes
  • 1 Tablespoon salt (non-iodized)
  • 1 cup sliced green peppers
  • 1 cup sliced onions
  • 1 cup white vinegar
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon celery seed

Preparation

Step 1

Mix 1st four ingredients together and let stand 2 hours than drain and put in sterilized jars.

Brine:
Cook white vinegar, sugar and celery seed until sugar is dissolved - usually to a boil. Cool completely before pouring over cukes.


Put covers on jars and put in refrigerator. Ready to eat in 3 days.
