Ingredients
- 9 inch pastry shell, unbaked
- 1 stick butter, melted
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 1/3 cup orange juice
- 2 cups Granny Smith apples, peeled and chopped
- Pinch of salt
Preparation
Step 1
In sauce pan, melt butter. Add sugar, flour and orange juice and blend until well mixed. Add apples and salt. Let simmer 1 - 2 minutes. Place in unbaked pastry shell.
Bake at 400 degrees until mixture begins to bubble, then reduce heat to 350 degrees and contine baking for a total of 45 minutes.
Some suggestions: If pie is too "juicy", add more flour or reduce the amount of orange juice.
