Ingredients

  • 3 Egg Whites ~ room temperature
  • 1/4 tsp. Cream of Tartar
  • 3/4 Cup Granulated Sugar

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 275`
Cover cookie sheet with heavy brown paper.
Beat 3 egg whites and 1/4 tsp cream of tartar in small mixer bowl until foamy.
Beat in 3/4 cup of sugar, 1 TBSP at a time, until stiff and glossy. Do not underbeat.
Drop meringue in 1/3 cupfuls onto paper. Shape into nests.
Bake 1 hour.
Turn off oven and leave in ove, with door closed for another 1.5 hours.
Finish cooling at room temperature.
Can be frozen.
Makes 8-10 shells

Best served with vanilla ice cream & topped with fresh strawberries
