Ingredients
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- 1/4 cup chopped onion
- 3/4 cup picante sauce or medium hot salsa
- 1 - 3 oz. pkg. cream cheese
- 4 oz. shredded mild cheddar cheese
- 8 oz. shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- dash of paprika
- 2 - 4 oz. cans chopped green chiles
- dash of Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 tea. salt
- 3 Tbsp. Paula Deen Hot Sauce or other hot sauce (optional)
- 2 lb. cocktail smokies
- cooking oil spray
- tortilla chips
Preparation
Step 1
Melt butter in a large skillet. Add onion and saute until tender, Add picante sauce and stir. Gradually add cream cheese and shredded cheeses. Stir in paprika, green chiles, Worchestershire sauce, salt and the hot sauce; continue cooking and stirring until cheese is melted sand the mixture is well blended.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Arrange sausages on a baking sheet lined with foil; spray with cooking oil spray. Bake for 12-18 minutes, or until heated through.
Place sausages in a bowl and pour cheese sauce over the top.
Serve with tortilla chips.
