Snickerdoodles

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1/2 cup butter (softened)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Preparation

Step 1

Combine flour, baking soda and cream of tartar and set aside.

Beat the butter for 30 seconds, add 1 cup of the sugar, egg and vanilla. Beat until well combined.

Add 1/2 the flour mixture to butter mixture and beat. Add the remaining flour. Stir with wooden spoon until combined.

Cover and chill for 1 hour.

Combine remaining 2T sugar and cinnamon in a shallow dish and make 1 inch balls with the dough. Roll balls in cinnamon-sugar mixture to coat.

Bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes until the edges are lightly browned.

Cool on a wire rack.
