Salisbury Steak

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup chopped onions
  • 1 tsp. oil
  • 1 1/2 lb. ground round
  • 1 can golden mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 egg slightly beaten
  • dash pepper
  • 1/4 cup water

Preparation

Step 1

1. Place onion and oil in a 1 quart casserole. Cook in microwave on full power for 2 minutes, or until onion is tender.
2. Drain, and add ground beef, 1/4 cup soup, bread crumbs, egg and pepper. Mix well and form into 6 patties. Arrange in 2 quart utility dish. Cook in microwave on full power for 8 minutes. Turn patties over half way through cooking time. Drain.
3. Blend remaining soup with water. Pour over meat. Cook in microwave on full power for 2 to 4 minutes, or until meat is cooked as desired. Turn meat over, and rearrange half way through cooking time.

For a zestier flavor, use flavored bread crumbs.
