Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1/4 cup packed basil leaves, finely chopped
- 1 30-ounce can tomato sauce
- 4 cups chicken broth OR vegetable broth
- 2 cups heavy cream OR fat free half and half
- 2 cups cooked orzo pasta
- salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
Step 1
In a large pot melt butter over medium heat. Add garlic and basil and saute til fragrant.
Add tomato sauce, broth, and milk. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer and allow to cook for about 10 minutes.
Stir in orzo and salt and pepper to taste. Garnish with additional basil if desired and serve.
