Ingredients

    gallon of pickles or 20 6” pickles

  • 8

    small onions

  • 1-1/2

    tsp. turmeric

  • 1/2

    cup salt

  • 1/2

    tsp. ground cloves

  • 2

    Tbls. mustard seed

  • 5

    cups sugar

  • 2

    tsp. celery seed

  • 5

    cups vinegar

Directions

Slice pickles and onions in crock. Cover with ice cubes and let stand 3 hours. Drain. Combine remaining ingredients and bring to boil. Boil for 1 -2 minutes. Then add cucumbers and onions. Get good and hot. Pour into prepared jars. Makes 8 pints. (No hot water bath…will seal themselves.)
