Chinese Pork and Green Beans

Ingredients

  • cooking spray
  • 1 8-oz sliced mushrooms
  • 1 lb lean ground pork
  • 2 T soy sauce
  • 2 T sake cooking wine
  • 1 T rice vinegar
  • 2 t brown sugar
  • 1 t sriracha
  • 1 t sesame oil
  • 1 T canola oil
  • 1 T minced garlic
  • 1 T grated ginger
  • 1/4 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 12 oz. green beans, trimmed
  • 1/4 C water

Preparation

Step 1

Spray medium skillet with cooking spray and heat over high heat. Add mushrooms and cook till all liquid is released and they begin to brown, about 7-10 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.

Spray large skillet with cooking spray and heat over high heat. Add pork and cook till thoroughly cooked and beginning to brown, about 10 minutes. Remove pork to a plate.

In a small bowl whisk together soy sauce, sake, vinegar, brown sugar, sriracha and sesame oil. Set aside.

Add canola oil to pan used to cook pork and heat over high heat. Add garlic, ginger, onion and beans. Stir well to coat. Cook till very fragrant, about 2 minutes. Add water and stir well. Cook till beans are crisp tender, about 2 minutes. Add reserved pork, mushrooms and soy sauce mix. Stir well to combine. Cook until most of the liquid evaporates, about 1 minute.
