  • 3 cups flour
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon caraway seeds
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup dried currants

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a large bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, caraway seeds, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; mix well with wire whisk.

In a medium bowl, combine melted butter, buttermilk, and eggs. Add all at once to dry ingredients and stir until almost combined. Add currants and stir until batter is combined.

Drop by rounded tablespoons onto parchment paper-lined cookie sheets. Bake for 10-14 minutes until the biscuits are browned. Serve warm.
