Garlic Rubbed Fried Bread

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup olive oil, divided
  • 6 cloves garlic, 4 smashed and 2 cup in half
  • 12 baguette slices, 1 1/2" thick

Preparation

Step 1

1. Heat 1/4 cup oil with 2 smashed garlic in a 12" nonstick skillet over medium high. Fry 6 slices of bread in garlic oil in same skillet until golden on each side, about 2 mins per side. Transfer bread to a paper towel lined plate. While still warm, rub side each side of fried bread with halved garlic clove.

2. Repeat process with second batch by heating, frying and rubbing with remaining oil, garlic and bread.
