Pretzels

  • 1 1/4 tsp dry yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 1 3/4 cup flour
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt 1 egg, beaten
  • salt

Preparation

Step 1

Combine y east and warm water in a large bowl and stir until dissolved.
Combine flour, sugar and salt in a small bow. And add to the liquid mixture. Use a wooden spoon and stir until dough no longer looks sticky. You may need an extra Tbsp of flour. Knead dough until smooth and elastic (about 5 minutes). Grease a medium size bowl. Place dough in bowl. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerated overnight. Preheat oven to 450. Spray baking sheet with Pam. Divide dough
evenly into 4 pieces. Roll each piece from the center out into pencil thin rope about one foot long. Loop each rope into the shape of a pretzel. Using a pastry brush, brush each pretzel with beaten egg and sprinkle with salt. Bake 10-15 minutes
or until brown.
